Explanation
Unlike previous years it is not possible to rent a chip this year. However, two kinds of chips can be bought: either the familiar yellow chip or the new green chip. The green chip is a new concept on the basis of well-known MyLaps ChampionChip technique. Green chips are available at € 4,-. They can be used for the various distances of the Midwinter Marathon Apeldoorn, without extra charges. Afterwards they can be used for many other marathons in the Netherlands with only little extra payment. It is also possible to buy the green chip in the case of race-day registration.
If you have already got a green chip you can use it to run one of the distances of the Midwinter Marathon Apeldoorn. We charge € 2,- to let you use the chip. Of course you can also use the yellow chip, if you have one. It is also possible to buy from MyLaps a yellow chip, at € 28,-. If you are buying a green chip, it will be sent to you together with your participant’s packet.
The main differences between the yellow and the green chip
• The purchase price of a yellow chip is € 28,-, no extra charge when used. The yellow chip can be used worldwide at contests and at ChampionChip TimePoints.
• The purchase price of a green chip is € 4,- and when used a user’s fee is charged. The green chip can only be used at contests in the Netherlands and at ChampionChip TimePoints in the Netherlands.
Summary of the options at the Centraal Beheer Achmea Midwinter Marathon
• You already have your own YELLOW MyLaps ChampionChip. In that case you can enter with your own personal chip. There is no extra charge for the use of the chip.
• You buy your own YELLOW MyLaps ChampionChip at € 28,- which will be sent to you by MyLaps.
• You already have your own GREEN MyLaps ChampionChip. In that case you can enter with your own green chip and will be charged € 2,- extra.
• You buy your own GREEN MyLaps ChampionChip, which you will receive together with your start number. You are charged € 4,- extra, that is including use of the chip at one of the Midwinter Marathon Apeldoorn distances.
